Heading west towards Loch Lomond we take time for a short panoramic tour
of Glasgow and find out how this once industrial giant is again flourishing.
Across the River Clyde we stop on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond,
Britain's largest expanse of water, with time for a boat trip or a ramble,
your choice. After lunch in Aberfoyle we drive over the Trossachs. With its
lochs, glens and heather covered mountains it is hardly surprising it is
known as 'Scotland in Miniature'.There will be a photo stop in The Trossachs.
Driving through the village of Callander we pass Doune Castle, which
featured in the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" Then on to Stirling
Castle. With at least an hour's stop on the castle esplanade you will have
the opportunity to visit the castle or other nearby attractions and take in
magnificent views over the Forth Valley and The Wallace Monument. A 200-foot
memorial to the man immortalised in the movie "Braveheart".
Enjoy a relaxing drive home listening to Scottish music while passing
Bannockburn, scene of Robert The Bruce's famous victory over the English in
1314, and Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots in 1542.
